名古屋市西区の町並み保存地区に指定されている歴史ある町並みの四間道にあるオーダースーツサロン。

サロンが入る建物も四間道に似合う様に建てられた趣きある和風建築のテナント施設。

木造の小屋組み、格子窓など和風建築としての色を残しながら、調和するインテリアを目指した。

オーダースーツサロンというと慣れていない人は緊張してしまいそうだが、1組限定でバーカウンターのようなカウンター越しに打ち合わせを行うサロンは、バーに飲みに来た様に気軽に話しができ、バックカウンターにはお酒ではなく、スーツの生地帳が並び、お酒を選ぶ様にスーツの生地やボタンをオーナーと談笑しながら選べる空間とした。

バックヤードとの間仕切壁は空間を広く、そして変化をつけるため斜めに配置し、壁の仕上げはスーツの生地でもある、ヘリンボーン柄のタイル貼りとし、アクセントで真鍮目地を入れて、華やかさを演出している。

Design for a tailor-made suit salon in a historical townscape that has been designated as a preservation district of Nagoya city.

The building that houses the salon is a commercial building built in a Japanese style to match the townscape.

While keeping Japanese style architecture elements such as the timber roof structure and the lattice windows, we created the space that blend them in.

The salon serves only one group at a time and customers could casually talk with the tailor over the counter,just like dropping by a bar. Behind the counter there are fabric samples for suits instead of alcohol, so customers could select fabrics and buttons for their suits as if they pick up a drink.

The partition wall at the office was placed diagonally to make the store more spacious and give accent.

It was finished with tiles in herringbone pattern, as with fabrics of suits, with brass joints, creating an exquisite atmosphere.
